APPOINTMENTS NOTICE: IF YOU RESIDE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF JERUSALEM, IN THE WEST BANK, OR IN GAZA, PLEASE MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT WITH THE U.S. CONSULATE GENERAL IN JERUSALEM. Please go to: https://evisaforms.state.gov/acs/default.asp?postcode=JRS&appcode=1 to schedule an appointment at the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem. Applicants residing outside Tel Aviv's Consular District who come to the American Citizen Services Unit in Tel Aviv without an appointment will be instructed to seek services at the Consulate in Jerusalem. For applicants who reside in Israel, please schedule an appointment by following these directions.
WHO DOES NOT REQUIRE AN APPOINTMENT: Adding Visa Pages: Applicants who wish to add visa pages do not need to appear personally at the Embassy. Send your applications by mail. Interviews are not required. If you decide to appear at the Embassy to add pages, please go directly to Window 1 in the American Citizen Services Unit between the hours of Monday to Thursday, 8am to 11am. Form DS-82: Applicants with a DS-82 passport renewal (please see this link to see if you qualify) do not need to appear personally at the Embassy to renew their passport. These applicants should send their applications by mail. Interviews are not required. If you decide to appear at the Embassy for a DS-82 renewal, please go directly to Window 1 in the American Citizen Services Unit between the hours of Monday to Thursday, 8am to 11am. Deaths: Appointments are not required for reporting the death of an American citizen. Please go to any available window Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Emergencies: Genuine emergency cases do not require an appointment, although the applicant must bring documentation to prove the emergency. Office hours for these types of cases are 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday through Friday. Social Security and Federal Benefits: People seeking service from the Federal Benefits Unit do not require appointments. This includes general inquiries, applications for Social Security Numbers, and applying for benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Railroad Retirement Board, and the Office of Personnel Management. Their hours are 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Tuesday through Friday. They are closed on Mondays. For more information, go to: http://israel.usembassy.gov/consular/acs/benefits.aspx. The American Citizen Services Unit is closed the last Friday of each month.
