PLEASE NOTE:  If you are feeling unwell or are exhibiting flu-like symptoms on the day of your appointment, please do not come to the American Citizen Services Unit for your appointment.  Instead, please contact us by email at AMCTelAviv@state.gov and we will be happy to reschedule your appointment.  To protect the health of our employees and fellow American citizens, if you do come to our office and you are exhibiting signs that you are ill, you may be asked to leave and reschedule your appointment.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Attention:  The Consular Section cashier is experiencing technical difficulty processing credit card charges.  Until we resolve this problem, credit cards will still be accepted, but applicants may prefer to pay with cash.

Passport Services

NOTE:  Beginning on February 1, 2008, US regulations will require that both parents be present to sign the passport application or visa pages for all minors under the age of 16. This replaces the current regulations which allow minors to sign for themselves at the age of 14.

In order to obtain passport services, you must make an appointment to come to the U.S. Embassy.

Please note that all passports are printed in the U.S. and mailed back to the Embassy. Therefore, processing times can vary throughout the year based on the current workload.  Passports can take between 3 and 6 weeks to be processed.  Therefore, please plan ahead and ensure that you always maintain a valid passport.

For further instructions, please click the service below that you need:

  • Pursuant to regulations under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, beginning January 23, 2007, ALL persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda will be required to present a valid passport, Air NEXUS card, or U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Document, or an Alien Registration Card, Form I-551, if applicable. The regulation also requires that American citizens have a passport when departing the U.S. by air regardless of destination.
