On February 25, 2005, novelist and short story writer Gish Jen enchanted an audience of forty Israeli cultural figures at the residence of Ambassador Daniel C. Kurtzer with her humor and eloquence. Ms. Jen read
selections from her most recent novel, The Love Wife, that addressed the issues of family tradition, American multiculturalism and ethnicity, and immigrant/second generation experiences in America with warmth and wit. Ms. Jen's programs provided a wonderful example of the multicultural nature of the American experience, and her readings, lectures, and frank and humorous assessment of immigrant experiences brought alive the
diversity of American culture.
